Fortunately, the sound quality of Beats Studio Pro was very good.
Beats likes to market with numbers. “It Phone Number List features new 40mm drivers with precision vents and a tight acoustic mesh to optimize airflow and minimize distortion,” Beats said. “It delivers a total harmonic distortion of 0.02% even at high volumes.” This is an 80% improvement over Beats Studio 3.
To me, it sounds like a marketing-focused term related to computers and the latest technology, but it delivers pretty good sound quality even at a price point of less than $500. The bass is as clear and powerful as the AirPods Max, and the high frequencies are more accurate. I've never thought about the snap and hi-hat on the AirPods Max being frustrating, but it feels that way when I compare it directly with the Beats Studio Pro.
The adaptive noise canceling quality is excellent, but the ambient noise tolerance mode performance is slightly inferior to the 2nd generation AirPod Pro. What's important is that the tone doesn't change at all when switching between normal, noise-canceling, and transparency modes.
Great choice for Apple fans
There are many noise-canceling headphones with good performance on the market. I'm not sure if the Beats Studio Pro has better sound quality or more compelling features than the Sony WH-1000XM5, but it will definitely be a better choice for Apple enthusiasts due to its ecosystem integration similar to AirPods.
It is definitely an easier product to recommend than AirPods Max. The padding isn't as comfortable, but it offers better sound quality overall and is lighter, making it easier to carry around. It folds and comes with a carrying case, and offers an analog 3.5mm input, charging and audio input via USB-C, and excellent battery life.
Of course, it is unfortunate that it cannot match the differentiated premium feel of the AirPods Max and that the Beats Studio Pro does not provide a wearing detection function, but even if the price of the AirPods Max is lowered to a similar level as the Beats Studio Pro, I would still choose the Beats Studio Pro.
